
Strykers Sweep Marshals

Woodlands Strykers News Release
The Woodlands Strykers played a double header this evening against the Texas Marshals. The team got good pitching and clutch hitting as they took both games 2-1 and 4-1.
Game 1
Kael Jones started for the Strykers. He threw 4.2 innings giving up two hits and striking out one batter. Nolan Riggs came in and pitched one inning before Gandy Stubblefield pitched the final 1.1 innings for the save.
The team had five hits. Drake Roberts and Dirk Masters were 1-4. Zach Davis was 1-2, Ricky Sanchez was 1-3 and Conner Fikes was 1-1. Zach Davis would score the first run in the fifth inning when we would score on a wild pitch. The second run was scored by Bobby Schuman would ran for Masters after Masters hit a single. Schuman would make his way to third and come home on an error by the Marshals catcher.
Game 2.
Matt Danton started on the mound, throwing six innings of one run ball. He gave up four hits and struck out three batters. Stubblefield came in for the seventh and earned his second safe of the night.
The scored all four of their runs in the seventh innning. Daniel Homann came in the game and drew a walk. Zach Davis then followed with a single. Drake Roberts would then hit a single. Conner Fikes would then come up and draw a bases loaded walk scoring Homann. Davis would come home on a wild pitch. Kevin Santana would then hit a two run double that scored Roberts and Fikes.
The team now returns home to take on the Victoria Generals tomorrow and Friday evening(July 18th and 19th). The game tomorrow is a Dollar Thursday with $1 Hot Dog and Drinks. Fridays game with be a Family Friday with Free Kids Admission. Also at the game Friday, there will be a special food drive for Interfaith of The Woodlands. All fans who donate a non perishable food item for Interfaith of The Woodlands will receive 1/2 off GA tickets. The team then closes out the week at the Brazos Valley Bombers.
