
Strykers Register First Win of the Season

The Woodlands Strykers grabbed their first win of the season tonight against the Texas Marshals at Strykers Stadium. The Strykers had to battle from behind, but came out on top 6-5 the two teams will go back at it on Friday June 7th at 7:05 from Strykers Stadium located at The Woodlands Christian Academy. The Strykers offense came alive tonight after struggling through the first week of the season. Left fielder Brian Smith had a great game at the plate going 4 for 5 including a triple. New third baseman Dalton Perry was 2 for 5 with a solo homerun to leftfield. Woodlands native, Landon Merka had a 2 for 4 night with two RBIs. The rest of the lineup pitched in to help produce the six runs, which proved to be just enough to secure the win.
Will Hibbs made his second start on the mound tonight. He threw six innings. He allowed three hits, and three runs while striking out six Marshals. Jake Cosart came in and did an outstanding job in his two innings of relief. He struck out three batters. Newly signed Gandy Stubblefield of Texas A&M came in and pitched the ninth inning for the save and struck out two batters in his inning of work. Friday's game starts at 7:05 and is a Family Friday with Free Kids admission and post game autograph signing. The team will conclude this week with a trip to Victoria for two games with the Generals.
