
Strykers Open Four Game Homestand

Woodlands Strykers News Release
The Woodlands Strykers finished their two game series with the Acadiana Cane Cutters. The team played a hard fought game but came up short with the Cane Cutters winning 12-10. The team now heads home for a four game homestand starting July 4th and lasting through July 7th.
Landon Merka and Robert Heep started the game off by drawing walks. Those two came home on a two run first inning single by Daniel Homann. The team got four runs in the fifth inning. Newly signed Bobby Schuman was able to get on on an error by the Cane Cutter shortstop. Dalton Perry would then come up and hit a single. Schuman would come home to score on a single by Connor Kalisky. Following Kalisky, Zach Davis would also hit a single that scored Dalton Perry. Both Kalisky and Davis would score when the next batter, Merka would line a single. Perry would score the first of two runs in the sixth inning. He would get on base by hitting a single. He would come to score on another single by Davis. Kalisky would score the second run on a single by Merka. Kalisky had gotten on base on a dropped third strike, then moved around the bases.
Kael Jones made his first start of the season tonight. He struck out three batters in three innings. Greg Jakusik came in for 2 innings. Martin Cronin then followed with 1.1 innings of work. Austen Gunnels came in for .2 innings of work folowed by Nolan Riggs who pitched the ninth.
The team will open up the homestand against the East Texas Pump Jacks tomorrow (July 4th) and Friday. Come out Thursday on Independence Day as we will have a special guest do the first pitch. Thursday game is also a Dollar Thursday with $1 Hot Dogs and Drinks. The Friday game against the Pump Jacks is a Family Friday with Free Kids Admission and Post Game Autograph Session. The Cane Cutters will come to town this Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's game is a Saturday Drive with Half Off GA Tickets with the donation of a non perishable food item to be donated to Interfaith of The Woodlands.
