Strykers Lose Tough One to Bombers 4-1

Tough loss tonight. We now head to Louisiana for two games before coming back home Thursday-Sunday for 7:05 scheduled games.

The Woodlands Strykers finished their two game series against the Brazos Valley Bombers tonight at Strykers Stadium at The Woodlands Christian Academy. The team played hard, but could not get enough runs across the plate as the Bombers won the game 4-1.

The Strykers managed to get six hits on the night. San Antonio native Robert Heep, who played center field was 2-4 on the evening with two singles. Both Right fielder Dirk Masters and Left fielder Brian Smith each had one hit, with Masters hitting a double. Third baseman Taylor Taska and Short stop Dalton Perry would also add one hit each. The one run for the Strykers came in the first inning when Heep scored on a sacrifice fly by Smith.

Houston native, Kevin Roy made his first start on the mound tonight. He allowed four hits, one earned run and struck out three batters in five innings of work. Missouri City native, Caulin Cragle would pitch three innings of relief and give up one run and strike out four Bombers. Woodlands native, Martin Cronin would pitch the final inning for the Strykers.

The Strykers will now have tomorrow off before heading east to Louisiana to take on the Acadiana Cane Cutters Tuesday and Wednesday for games at 7:05 both evenings. The team returns home this coming Thursday through Sunday. They will host the East Texas Pump Jacks Thursday and Friday at 7:05 and then the Acadiana Cane Cutters from Saturday through Sunday also at 7:05 scheduled games.
