Strykers Come up on Wrong End vs. Marshals

Came up on the wrong end tonight. The guys keep playing hard. Will look to close out this week with wins on the road in Kilgore.

The Strykers concluded their two game series with the Marshals tonight in Dallas. The two teams started off kind of slow, but the offense came alive from both teams heated up as the game went on. The Marshals prevailed with a 12-11 victory.

Kevin Santana scored the first run of the game in the first inning. He drew a walk and then came to score on a bases loaded walk by Taylor Taska. In the fifth inning, Landon Merka would hit a double. Two batters later, Ricky Sanchez would line a single. Both batters would score on a single by Brian Smith. In the sixth inning, the team would see five runners come home. Daniel Homann would start the inning out by drawing the walk. Robert Heep then came up and was safe on a fielder's choice. Homann would come home two batters later when Conner Fikes would line a double up the middle. Landon Merka then came to the plate and hit a single that brought Heep to the plate. Zach Davis followed with a single of his own to score Fikes. Merka was able to score on a single by Zach Davis. Davis would then move to third on a single by Ricky Sanchez. Both Davis and Sanchez would then score on a single by the next batter, Brian Smith. Dalton Perry would lead the ninth inning off by getting hit by a pitch. He would move to second base on a wild pitch. Perry would score on a double by Daniel Homann. The final two runs of the night came from Conner Fikes when he would belt a 1-2 pitch over the wall in rightfield, scoring Homann and himself.

Trever Storie would make his first start of the season. He pitched four innings and struck out two giving up three runs. Woodlands natives, Greg Jakusik and Austen Gunnels would combine to pitch the next 2.2 innings. Nolan Riggs would finish the game out by pitching the last 1.2 innings.

The Strykers will now head east for Kilgore on Saturday for three games against the East Texas Pump Jacks. The teams will play one game Saturday and two games Sunday. The Strykers return home this coming Tuesday and Wednesday against the Acadiana Cane Cutters.
