Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders dropped their first game of the series to the San Antonio Missions on Thursday night, falling 2-1 at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Frisco starter Owen White threw six innings of one-run baseball for the Riders, his most innings since joining the Double-A level. White ended his start by retiring his last ten batters faced in order behind five strikeouts.

Frisco left fielder Dustin Harris led the offense on a 2-for-4 night, collecting a double and a triple Thursday night. Since the start of the series on Monday, Harris has tallied six hits, with his last three for extra bases.

San Antonio starter Reggie Lawson gave up a run on three hits and four strikeouts. Reliever Carlos Belen (3-3) tossed the last two, giving up a pair of walks and a hit.

White gave up a run on a pair of singles in the bottom of the second inning, allowing San Antonio to take their first lead of the series.

Thursday's game ran scoreless until Frisco responded with a lead off double from Harris, who advanced to third on a groundout from Justin Foscue. One batter later, Harris scored on an RBI groundout from Blaine Crim, evening the score, 1-1.

Harris knocked his second triple of the season with two outs in the top of the sixth inning, but was stranded to keep Thursday's game tied, 1-1.

Following scoreless innings from relievers Tyler Thompson and Joe Corbett, left hander Triston Polley gave up a lead-off single and walked a pair of runners to load the bases. San Antonio dealt the final blow as third baseman Connor Hollis was plunked by a pitch from Polley (0-1) to end the game.

The six-game series continues Friday night at The Wolff as Frisco RHP Zak Kent (1-2, 6.15 ERA) faces San Antonio RHP Ryan Lillie (2-4, 5.48 ERA) with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch.

The RoughRiders return home on July 12th against the Midland RockHounds for the only full homestand in the month of July. For tickets and more information about the Frisco RoughRiders, visit RidersBaseball.com or call 972.731.9200.
