Strong Dogs and Maryland Nighthawks make up games

February 4, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Tampa Bay Strong Dogs News Release

HARLEM, USA - After carefully consultation between both teams' management and American Basketball Association's (ABA) league office, the Harlem Strong Dogs along with the Maryland Nighthawks have agreed to play two games this weekend in New York City. Games will be played at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn, New York City.

Games that were originally scheduled to be played on Saturday, January 22 and Sunday, January 23at Riverbank State Park in Harlem, New York City were postponed due to the massive east coast snowstorms.

Due to scheduling commitments at the Strong Dogs regular home venue, we have decided to move the games across borough lines into Brooklyn to Medgar Evers College – The City University of New York at 1150 Carroll Street between Nostrand and Rogers Avenues. The nearest subway station is less than one block away at President Street for the 2 and 5 train lines.

"Such is life in minor league sports," says an exasperated Coach Charles of the Strong Dogs. "You have to try to make the best of certain negative situations."

Tip off is at 7pm on Saturday, February 5, 2005 and 1pm on Sunday, February 6, 2005.

We have allowed ample time for people interested in that game with Roman numerals in the title to get in front of a television ready for kick-off.

The Harlem Strong Dogs deeply apologizes for announcing this schedule update this late in the week and any inconvenience this may have caused our fans but hope you come out to support our team.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
