Fort Lauderdale, Fla. - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced an international friendly with Brazilian champion Sport Club Corinthians Paulista on January 23, 2016 at 2 p.m. at Lockhart Stadium.

Founded in 1910, Corinthians competes in the top-flight Campeonato Brasilieiro Série A and is one of the most popular teams in Brazil. The 2015 season wrapped up on Sunday with Corinthians claiming their sixth Série A crown.

"Corinthians is one of the most successful teams in Brazil and we're excited to square off against them at Lockhart," said Strikers CEO Sean Guerin. "While facing the Brazilian champions will be a tough test, the match will be a treat for Strikers fans. It will pay off in terms of preparation for the 2016 NASL season. I can't wait."
