Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release

Fort Lauderdale, FL (February 1, 2010) - The Strikers have re-signed last season's defensive stalwarts Aaron Hohlbein and Martyn Lancaster for the upcoming 2011 season. Per team policy, terms of the contracts have not been disclosed.

"We are happy to have both Martyn and Aaron back for the 2011 season. They both are leaders not only on the field but off it as well. We expect both of them to strengthen our defensive group as that is an important piece of the puzzle.," states Strikers Head Coach Daryl Shore. "A winning club starts with a strong team core and that's what we are putting together here."

Hohlbein, 25, played college soccer at the University of Wisconsin and was later drafted by the Kansas City Wizards with the third overall selection in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft. In 2010 he made 10 appearances for Miami FC, being team captain during the last five matches of the season, in which the club went undefeated.

Martyn Lancaster is an England native who played his first season with the Blues last year, starting in 21 matches. He appeared in 95 games for Chester City in the English Football League and Football Conference between 1998 and 2003. He also played for Swedish side Ljungskile Sk and for Queen of the South in Scotland.
