Fort Lauderdale Strikers News Release
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Thursday, April 23, 2015) - The Fort Lauderdale Strikers today announced the signing of midfielder Victor Giro "PC" to a multi-year contract. PC was previously on loan to the Strikers from Brazilian powerhouse Corinthians.
"We are really happy to acquire PC outright from Corinthians," said Strikers General Manager Amaury Nunes. "He has shown a lot in just three matches. Our first thought when we got him on loan was to keep him with us. As soon as the opportunity came through, we made the move to bring him in on a permanent deal. We are very pleased."
A left back when he arrived from Brazil, PC has started and played every minute of the Strikers first three matches in midfield. He has scored one goal for the Strikers -- the game winner from more than 30 yards out against Jacksonville Armada FC on April 11. The strike was voted by NASL fans as Play of the Week.
PC collected North American Soccer League (NASL) Player of the Week honors for week two after his performance in the 2-1 win against Jacksonville. He was also selected to the Team of the Week alongside teammate and compatriot Léo Moura.
