
Streak Snapped as JetHawks Fall just Short

LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks nearly came back from 11 runs down Friday night, falling to the Visalia Rawhide, 11-9, at The Hangar. The defeat brought Lancaster's winning streak to an end at four games.
Visalia (15-21, 54-52) scored 11 runs in the first three innings to take a commanding lead. The Rawhide scored four runs in the first and second innings. They added three in the fourth inning to cap off the scoring. Ramon Hernandez led the way for the visitors, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles and five RBIs.
Ty Culbreth (5-5) took the loss, giving up 11 runs on 13 hits in four innings. The bullpen threw five scoreless innings behind him. Kenny Oakley and Salvador Justo combined to keep Lancaster in the game.
Lancaster (21-15, 54-52) fought back, starting with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Vince Fernandez hit a two-run home run in the rally, giving him a home run in three consecutive games.
Emilio Vargas (8-5) picked up the win for Visalia. All six runs he allowed came in the fourth inning.
The JetHawks made things interesting with three runs in the eighth inning. Wes Rogers smashed a two-run home run to bring Lancaster within two, 11-9. Rogers has a home run in the last three games he has played in.
Lancaster was unable to bring the potential tying run to the plate. Tyler Mark retired the side in order in the ninth to pick up the save for Visalia.
The loss snapped Lancaster's winning streak at four games. The JetHawks lost at home to Visalia for the first time this season. Lancaster is 7-3 against the Rawhide.
The series continues Saturday night. Logan Longwith (1-4) takes the hill for Lancaster against Connor Grey (8-6). It's Harry Potter Night presented by CCRC, with the first 1,000 fans taking home a Golden Snitch Baseball. First pitch from The Hangar is at 6:05 pm.
