Lancaster Stormers News Release
The Lancaster Stormers and Southern Maryland Blue Crabs started their Sunday afternoon series finale at Regency Furniture Stadium but did not get very far into the contest.
The game will be picked up in progress when the Blue Crabs visit Lancaster during the first week of September.
Play was suspended in the bottom half of the first inning. Southern Maryland has a runner at third base with one out and a 1-0 count from Jason Bollman to Ethan Wilson.
Melvin Mercedes walked against newcome Jason Savacool to start the game. Corey Rosier bounced into a force out at second, and Tristin English grounded into a double play.
Rain hit during the inning break, but play continued with Bollman having been brought numerous towels to dry his hands. By the time the tarp crew was summoned, enough mud had accumulated to make covering the field impossible.
The Stormers will entertain the Staten Island FerryHawks Tuesday night at Penn Medicine Park. Fans may tune into Dugout TV, powered by HomeTeam Network and Blue Ridge Cable, beginning at 6:40.
