(Charlottetown, PE) It was the 4th overtime game for the Island STORM this season and they are a perfect 4-0 as Saturday night in Charlottetown they beat the Moncton Miracles 126-119 in front of 1,827 screaming fans at Eastlink Centre.
After taking a 2-0 lead to start the game, the STORM found themselves behind for most of the night until the Brandon Robinson scored with 3 seconds left in regulation time to send the game into overtime. From there the STORM took control outscoring the Miracles 15-8 in the extra session.
Nick Okorie and Nick Evans led the STORM attack, each scoring 27 points while Evans also added 9 rebounds. Mike Martin scored 21 and grabbed 7 rebounds while Rashad Whack scored 17. The STORM shot 50% from the floor including 42% from the 3 point line.
Shawn Vanzant scored 20 points to lead Moncton while handing out 6 assists.
The two teams will meet again Sunday afternoon in Moncton at 2pm.
The STORM play at home next on Monday February 16th at 2pm in their annual Islander Day game.
