Birch Run, MI (January 21, 2005) â The All-Star game in Gary was a huge success as a Genesis Convention Center record crowd of 6,638 fans saw the Eastern Conference prevail 114-110. The All-Star Game was preceded by the CBA Skills Competitions, featuring the Long Distance Shootout and the Slam Dunk Competition. The hometown Steelheads players swept the Skills Competition as David Graves won the Long Distance Shootout and Renaldo Major won the Slam Dunk Competition.
Mark Jones had the best performance of the three Storm players represented on the Eastern Conference squad. Jones finished with 15 points and eight rebounds. He also made it to the final round of the Long Distance Shootout. Jackie Butler also had a solid game with eight points and six rebounds. Kasib Powell ended up with four points and one rebound as his night was cut short by a sprained ankle in the third quarter.
Sam Clancy was named All-Star Game MVP as he posted a game-high in points and rebounds with 25 and 17 respectively. David Graves led the Eastern Conference with 20 points as he continued his hot 3-point shooting by going 3-for-5 from downtown.
