Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League announces the trade of Damien Cannaday to the Tri-City Diesel of Kearney, Nebraska for future considerations.

Cannaday signed with the Storm earlier this year, but would see limited playing time due to the depth of the receiving core. Damien, a wide receiver from the University of Minnesota, played in two bowl games for the Gophers and was a four-time scholar athlete. He will be reunited with quarterback Alex Neist with whom he played semi-pro football with in Minnesota.

The Storm, who look to return to the playoffs this season, will receive future considerations from the Diesel to strengthen their already deep roster.

Saturday the Storm face off against the Beef of Omaha in a match up of grand proportions. The Beef finished last season with an 11-3 record and is looking at another run at the playoffs. The Storm, who made the playoffs last year as well with a 10-5 record, is looking to slaughter Omaha's hopes and bring a wrath of fury their way. Kickoff for the game will be 7:05 pm at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

This Monday, March 15th the Storm will host "Tips for Touchdowns" at Champps Americana in which all tips will benefit Southeastern Behavioral HealthCare. The event will run from 6-9pm with Storm players, coaches, and staff serving tables and collecting tips benefiting the great cause. In addition, Mark Ovenden from KDLT Sports and Cade and Jen X from the KRRO Morning Show will be serving as all.
