
Storm to Participate in 16th Annual Clip for the Cure

The Sioux Falls Storm along with Regis Salons, Architectural Roofing & Sheetmetal, Inc. and Stewart School are pleased to announce a partnership for the 16th Annual Clip for the Cure Fundraiser. The event will take place on Saturday, October 21 from 10 AM to 6 PM at the Regis Salon in the Empire Mall.
Thousands of Regis stylist from across North America will give haircuts for only $15, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to breast cancer research. Approximately 22,000 haircuts will be given nationwide on this single day with earnings benefiting the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research. Also, throughout October, ten percent of net proceeds from the sale of all Regis designLine hair care products will be contributed to the cause. To date, Regis Corporation stylists have raised more than $5 million through Clip for the Cure.
As part of the event in Sioux Falls, raffle tickets will be sold throughout the month of October at Regis Salon and Stewarts School. Prizes for the raffle include a romantic Night on the Town valued at over $200 from Stewart School and The ClubHouse Inn and Suites, a $100 gift card from Sunshine Foods, a Metallic Iron Sculpure valued at $65 from Architectural Roofing & Sheetmetal, Inc., an $80 bracelet from Kay Jewelers, tickets to a 2007 Sioux Falls Storm game, and much more. Players from the 2006 United Indoor Football Champion Storm will be on hand to take pictures and sign autographs for fans. The United Bowl trophy will also be on display for fans to see.
"People can get a great haircut at a very good price, and help fight breast cancer," said Regis Manager, Reshia Nickles. "This cause is very close to many of our clients and stylists because so many of us know someone who has been touched by this disease. We hope that through Clip for the Cure, more women will become aware of the disease and take preventive measures to detect it in its early stages. Most importantly, we hope the money we raise will eventually lead to a cure."
