New Jersey claims season series over Columbus; Finish season tomorrow night in Ottawa
East Rutherford, NJ â The New Jersey Storm completed a season series sweep over the Columbus Landsharks tonight with a 10-9 home victory in front of 7, 349 fans at the Continental Airlines Arena.
Forward Billy LeFeuvre scored the game-winner at 13:28 of the final period to put the Storm ahead for good.
Forwards Bryan Bendig (3G, 0A) and Hanley Holcomb (2G, 1A) headlined New Jersey, each putting in three-point performances.
With the victory the Storm improve to 4-11 while Columbus ends their season with a 5-11 mark
Forward Kyle Arbuckle led all Landsharks, adding in a three-point performance of his own with two goals and one assist.
Net minder Matt Roik picked up the win, stopping 29 shots while across the turf Columbus goaltender Mike Miron suffered the loss despite making 29 saves.
In the earlier meeting between the two squads on December 1, 2001 in Columbus, the Storm edged their first-ever victory by the score of 13-12.
The team plays in its season finale tomorrow night in Ottawa when they face-off against the Rebel at 7:00 p.m. The Storm dropped a 12-10 home contest to the Rebel last weekend and will be looking to split the season series.
