Island Storm News Release
The Island Storm announced today they've added Harvard grad Oliver McNally to their training camp roster.
The 6'3", 180 lbs Guard is a familiar face to Atlantic Division fans, having played for the Moncton Miracles in the Point Guard spot last season.
McNally, a Ross, California, native, was a 4-year starter for Harvard University, starting all 31 games as a co-captain in his senior year for the Crimson. That year, he averaged 7.3 points per game and was awarded his second consecutive Henry Zimmerman Free Throw Accuracy Award (.860% FT accuracy). Two seasons at Harvard were spent playing alongside Houston Rockets Point Guard Jeremy Lin. McNally is the program's all-time leader in games played.
McNally was signed by the Moncton Miracles following his graduation from Harvard, where he had a very successful rookie season in 2012-2013. In 46 games with the Miracles, McNally averaged 10.5 points, 4 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He also averaged 44% from the field and 34.9% from the 3-point line. McNally continued his Free Throw accuracy prowess, shooting 80.6% from the line, good enough for 11th overall in the League for FT%.
McNally was second in the NBL in total assists with 298, 9th in the league in steals with 59, and ranked 24th overall in scoring with 482 points.
The Storm announced today they have released Ryan Martin, Justin Leemow, and Michael Corpening.
Storm training camp action continues this week with events for the public. Fans can see the team in an intra-squad matchup in Eastern PEI at Morell Regional High School on Wednesday, October 23. Tip-off is at 7pm. Admission for the event is free of charge.
Pre-Season action for the Storm also includes an exhibition game versus the Saint John Mill Rats at UPEI on October 25 at 7pm. The Storm will travel to Halifax for an exhibition game versus the Rainmen on Sunday, October 27 at the Halifax Metro Centre. Game time is 2pm.
