Storm Signs High-Flying Star of Las Vegas Global League

(Charlottetown, PE) Defying the laws of gravity with a spectacular dunking ability is just one of the ways the Island STORMS latest signing, CJ Trotter, is able to get his points. The STORM announced the signing of Trotter today for the upcoming NBL Canada season.
This past summer CJ Trotter led his team to the Global Basketball Summer League Championship in Las Vegas, scoring over 21 points per game while shooting 46% from the 3 point line. The 6'5" shooting guard from Hopkinsville, Kentucky was also named a 1st Team All Star and Co-MVP of the league.
A two-sport university standout, Trotter was a 2nd Team All-Conference selection in both basketball and track as a high jumper at Southern Indiana University in Evansville. Trotter scored in double figures 30 times during his two years at Southern Indiana, going for 20 or more 11 times. As a senior he led Southern Indiana University in scoring averaging nearly 15 points per game.
An experienced player, Trotter has also played pro basketball in Germany for BC Energie Zwickau. During his year in Germany he averaged 22.5 points, 6 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 62% from the floor.
Trotter toured with the famed Harlem Globetrotters this past year.
"CJ is a tremendous athlete," says STORM Head Coach Joe Salerno. "He has the ability to flat out shoot the ball. He was outstanding at the GBSL in Vegas and had a very productive rookie season in Germany right out of Southern Indiana. He adds even more depth to our backcourt and I'm very excited to get him into training camp."
Season tickets for the upcoming season, which starts Thursday November 6th in Charlottetown at Eastlink Centre against the Saint John Mill Rats, are now on sale. Meanwhile, single game tickets to STORM Basketball go on sale Monday October 6th.
