Sioux Falls Storm News Release

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) have signed linebacker Jimmie Gunn for the remainder of the 2007 season. Gunn is in his first season of indoor football. He will look to bolster an already formidable defensive unit that has given up the least amount of points and yards per game this season in the UIF.

Gunn made his name during his senior year at Minnesota State Mankato (MSU). Gunn wrapped up his final year in 2005 with 113 tackles, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. His 113 tackles led the North Central Conference (NCC) and ranked 28th nationally. The 6'0 240lb Gunn was named to the 2005 All-NCC first team defense as well as the 2005 Don Hansen's Football Gazette All-Northwest Region, 2005 Daktronics All-Northwest Region, and D2football.com All-Northwest Region second teams. Gunn also received the honor being twice named NCC Defensive Player of the Week.

Gunn appeared in 11 games during the 2004 season at MSU. He compiled 27 tackles in a reserve role. Before playing at MSU, Gunn led Mesabi Range Community & Technical College in Virginia, MN to a 10-1 record and a conference championship in 2003.

The Storm will host the Ohio Valley Greyhounds Saturday at 7:05 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena. After coming into existence in 2001, this will be the Greyhounds' first visit to the "Storm Shelter." The game theme will be "Guys Night Out" and is presented by Billion Toyota. Individual tickets can be obtained by visiting the Arena box office, 1201 N. West Avenue, or any Ticketmaster outlet by calling Ticketmaster at (605) 334-8181 or purchasing from ticketmaster.com.
