Tampa Bay Storm News Release

TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm have signed free-agent K Bill Gramatica to a one-year contract and QB Paul Troth to a two-year deal, General Manager and Head Coach Tim Marcum announced today.

Gramatica a 5-foot-11, 189 pound native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, played for the University of South Florida before moving on to a four-year career in the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins. During his tenure in the NFL he made good on 77.1% field goals tried and made 60 of 61 extra point attempts.

"He had an excellent NFL career but got hurt," Marcum said. "He had one of the best workouts I've seen in 18 years for a kicker and you know how fond I am of kickers. We'll see what he can do".

Gramatica's collegiate career at the University of South Florida is astounding. He owns most of the school's kicking records, including longest filed goal in school history at 63 yards. The Arizona Cardinals drafted the now 27 year-old kicker in the 4th round (98th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft. While with the Cardinals he suited up for 33 games, made good on 34 of 45 field goal attempts and made all 60 extra point attempts.

Troth a 6-foot-5, 240-pound native of Charlotte, North Carolina began his collegiate career at East Carolina University and then transferred to Liberty University.

Troth completed 57 of 118 passes attempted for 694 yards and one touchdown in six games with Liberty in 2004. Before transferring he completed 211 passes on 428 attempts for 2,695 yards and 16 touchdowns while at East Carolina University.
