Storm Set to Travel to Lincoln for Divisional Game
April 15, 2004 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Sioux Falls Storm News Release
The Sioux Falls Storm will travel to Lincoln, NE, Friday to battle it out with the 3-1 Lincoln Capitols. Lincoln attained their first loss of the season last Friday to the Sioux City Bandits, 51-19. The 2-2 Storm is coming off a bye week, but is carrying a two game winning streak including a 47-13 victory over the Wyoming Cavalry in front of 4,000+ fans at the Sioux Falls Arena for the Storm's home opener.
In the Wyoming game, Storm quarterback Rich Fuentes went 19 of 23 passing and 209 yards to go with his 3 touchdown passes. The unstoppable passing game Rich brings to the Storm pose a threat to the Capitols' defensive secondary, especially considering the Storm has one of the toughest wide receiving core's in the league.
For Lincoln, they come with a lot of veteran leadership. Strong Safety, Travis Kopf, currently leads Lincoln with 15 solo tackles 16 assists on the season. Quarterback Justin Coleman and wide receiver Ben House have put up some early season numbers, but the Storm's defense rates 2nd in the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) in total team sacks with 8 and will look to put pressure on Lincoln all game.
Kickoff at the Pershing Center in Lincoln is set for 7:05pm Friday evening. Storm fans can listen to the game LIVE with the voice of the Storm, Rich Roste, on KELO-AM 1320 with coverage starting at 6:45pm.
