Storm Set for Kool-Aid Night Game at Viaero Center

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set for tonight's Kool-Aid Night game at the Viaero Center following five consecutive games played on the road. Tonight's rivalry showdown between the Storm and the Lincoln Stars is the opening game of a seven-game homestand for Tri-City. Tickets to tonight's game are still available, and may be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop for tonight's game is scheduled for 6:05pm CT.
The Storm will wear specialty sweaters for tonight's Kool-Aid Night promotion at the Viaero Center. The game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off following the matchup. A select number of Nebraska Lottery Rivalry Four-Packs are also available. The four-pack includes four tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas, and ten Nebraska Lottery Scratch-Off Tickets for only $44. This special ticket package is available in limited quantities, and often sells out prior to puck drop. Tri-City (23-15-4-4) returns home to the Viaero Center for tonight's showdown with Lincoln after posting a 3-2-0-0 record on the team's recent five-game road trip. The five-game stretch culminated last night in the Storm's thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the Stars at the Ice Box. Trevor Connelly netted his team-leading twenty-second goal of the season only twenty-one seconds into last night's overtime period to seal the Storm's victory. Artemi Nizameyev, Owen Beckner, and Ryan Smith also netted goals for Tri-City during the matchup. The Storm improved to 3-1-0-2 in head-to-head matchups against the Stars this season, and 27-12-1-4 in games played against Lincoln over the past five seasons. Tri-City has won 15 of its last 19 games played at the Viaero Center against Lincoln entering this weekend's two-game home series. The Storm will host the Stars tomorrow at 4:05pm in a rescheduled game from January 11th.
Lincoln (20-21-2-2) has produced a record of 6-2-2-0 in its last ten games following last night's 4-3 overtime loss against Tri-City at the Ice Box. Jared Mangan, Max Ferkodic, and Martin Masa netted goals for the Stars during last night's contest. Lincoln outshot Tri-City 34-31, but dropped to 14-9-2-0 when outshooting its opponents this season. The Stars fell to 7-4-2-2 in one-goal games, and 3-2-1-0 in head-to-head matchups against the Storm in the loss. Lincoln dropped to 4-12-2-2 when trailing after the 1st period, and 1-16-1-2 when trailing after the 2nd period this season. The Stars enter tonight's game in 6th place in the USHL's Western Conference standings, ten points behind the Storm.
Tonight's game is set to begin at 6:05pm CT and will be streamed on FloHockey and Storm Radio.
