
Storm loses seventh straight at Philly

Philadelphia, PAâForward Tom Marechek scored five goals and added three assists to lead the host Philadelphia Wings to a 16-14 victory over the visiting New Jersey Storm this afternoon at the First Union Center. New Jersey has dropped seven straight.
13,334 watched as forward Marechek and the rest of the Wings improved to (3-5) and moved three games ahead of New Jersey in the loss column for second place in the National Lacrosse League's Eastern Division.
Leading the way for newly appointed Storm Head Coach Peter Vipond's squad was forward Roy Colsey (4G, 2A) with six points. Jim Brady stepped down as Head Coach before the game, but will remain with the club as its General Manager. Brady was (6-15) over two years as coach.
Storm net minder Matt Roik suffered the loss in his return from injury, stopping 32 Wings shots, while across the turf Philadelphia goaltender Dallas Eliuk notched the victory, turning away 37 shots.
With the loss, the Storm fall to (2-8) and drop the season series with the Wings after suffering a heartbreaking 16-15 home loss on February 6, 2003.
