
Storm Head Coach Continues to Win Championships

For Sioux Falls Storm Head Coach Kurtiss Riggs, winning has become a way of life. Over the last 17 months, Riggs has been a part of three National Championships and has a record of 45-2 over the last 47 games he has coached in.
Riggs' latest Championship came on Saturday as the University of Sioux Falls won the NAIA National Championship. The Cougars defeated the University of Saint Francis 23-19 to cap a 14-0 season. Riggs just completed his second season as the teams Quarterbacks Coach and the Cougars are 25-2 over that span. Riggs was an All-American quarterback at the University of Sioux Falls and led the team to the NAIA National Championship in 1996.
Riggs' other two championships came as Head Coach of the Sioux Falls Storm. Riggs led the Storm to a 17-0 record and a victory in United Bowl II during 2006. The Storm also won their final three games in 2005 on their way to the United Bowl I Championship. Riggs is 51-17 in his four seasons as Storm Head Coach and the Storm are currently on a 20-game win streak.
