Lake Elsinore Storm News Release
The Lake Elsinore Storm and Clear Channel Communications, in conjunction with KGBB 103.3 FM, announced plans today for the broadcast of Storm baseball games for the 2004 season. KGBB 103.3 FM, a division of Clear Channel Radio, will carry all 140 Storm games as the official flagship station for Storm baseball for the 2004 season.
Radio coverage for the 2004 season will begin April 8 as the Storm visit the Inland Empire 66ers in San Bernardino to kick off the regular season schedule. The Storm's 70-game home schedule begins April 9 at 7:05 pm when the Storm takes on the 66ers at The Diamond to kick off the eleventh season of baseball in Lake Elsinore.
After broadcasting its games on KGBB 103.3 in 2002, the Storm renewed ties with Clear Channel in 2003 to carry games on KMYT 94.5 FM. The new deal marks the third consecutive season that the team and Clear Channel have partnered for Storm baseball broadcasts.
Sean McCall, radio voice of the Storm since 1996, will return as the team's play-by-play announcer. "We're glad to be back on KGBB Temecula for another season promoting Storm baseball, community and partnership," said McCall. "It's important to the Storm organization to maintain a local presence while also providing fans the chance to follow San Diego's Future Padres in 2004."
John Roberts, General Sales Manager for Clear Channel Communications, joined the Storm in making the announcement. "As a local radio station, we are very excited to carry Storm baseball this season," said Roberts.
In addition to radio coverage of Storm baseball with 103.3 KGBB FM, the team announced that Storm games will once again be broadcast on the World Wide Web through the team's website: www.stormbaseball.com.
The Storm celebrated its tenth anniversary season with a fourth consecutive playoff berth in 2003. The Storm kick off the 2004 season April 8 and return home to The Diamond April 9 for the 2004 home opener. Season tickets, mini-plans, group discounts and individual game tickets for the 2004 season are now on sale. For more information, contact the Storm at (909) 245-4487 or visit them online at www.stormbaseball.com.
