
Storm Falls in Preseason Matchup, Loses to Jacksonville

Jacksonville, FL - The Tampa Bay Storm was defeated in a preseason matchup by the Jacksonville Sharks, Sunday evening at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, by a score of 42-35. The game saw the Storm defense picking up where it left off last year as it reeled in two interceptions.
The Storm struck first with a 38 yard pass from Randy Hippeard to Andrew Helmick. Hippeard would complete eight passes for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Stephen Garcia also saw action completing seven passes for 78 yards and one touchdown. The team's leading receiver was Andrew Helmick with three catches for 62 yards and a touchdown.
The Storm offense was ignited by its defense. The team hauled in a pair of interceptions, one by jack linebacker Jean Fanor and one by defensive back Chris Smith.
The Sharks offense was led by quarterback RJ Archer. Archer completed 12 passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Kyle Rowley also saw time under center. He went 5-for-11 for 66 yards and two touchdowns. The leading Jacksonville receiver was Willie Carter with five catches for 44 yards and a touchdown
