Storm Defeat the Beef in Week 1 Action

At OMAHA BEEF 29, SIOUX FALLS STORM 51 - The 2005 UIF National Champions, the Sioux Falls Storm, proved why they are the team to watch for early in the season. The Storm totaled 215 yards in 52 plays with quarterback Terrance Bryant leading the surge with 148 yards passing by completing 14 of 25 passes for 3 TD's. On the receiving end was WR Leon Hall who hauled in 5 catches for 50 yards and 1 touchdown. Newcomer to the Storm, Mike Scott, opened the second half with a 49 yard kick return. Scott led all players with 159 all-purpose yards. Team Captain, Mark Blackburn led all players with 7.5 tackles with Justin Landis just trailing with 7.

For the Beef, quarterbacks Chuck Wright and Fran Johnson each threw one touchdown and totaled 94 yards passing. Rookie sensation, R.J. Rollins, totaled 117 all-purpose yards with 49 of those rushing for 2 TD's. Defensively, LB Randy Stella led the Beef with 6.5 tackles. The Beef will travel to Sioux City to meet-up with the Bandits next weekend as the Storm travel to Rock River and battle the Raptors.
