Storm, Barnstormers Clash in IFL Game of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm will take the field this Saturday to battle the Iowa Barnstormers in the South Dakota Beef Industry Council IFL Hall of Fame Game. The Storm last played 669 days ago when they won the 2019 United Bowl in a hard-fought battele against the Arizona Rattlers. Iowa takes the field following a tumultuous offseason, but riding a wave of confidence that you would expect from a proud franchise.
The game is also the IFL Game of the Week and will be aired live on Stadium and worldwide at www.watchstadium.com.
The Storm return five starters from the 2019 squad, including wide receivers Damian Ford and Brandon Sheperd, quarterback Lorenzo Brown, defensive back Trey Wafford, and offensive linemen Lawrence Martin. However, the bulk of the defending champion's roster is made up of young players looking to help extend the Storm's historic IFL legacy.
The Barnstormers look to pull the upset in their first-ever game under new head coach Les Moss. Moss was hired just weeks before the start of training camp and had to hustle to finalize his roster and implement his system within the organization. But if anyone can do it, Moss would be the man, as he comes from a long liniage of indoor football, including his own championship experience in various leagues.
The Barnstormers also enter the game without their longtime organizational leader John Pettit, who passed away in December. Pettit was the rock of the Barnstormers organization for many years, a role that has since been picked up by his daughter Juli Pettit.
John Pettit will be one of four individuals inducted during halftime of the first-ever South Dakota Beef Industry Council IFL Hall of Fame Game. Also being inducted will be current Sioux Falls head coach Kurtiss Riggs, along side Fred Jackson and Heron O'Neal.
Kickoff is slated for 7:05 PM.
