Storm Adds Wide Receiver

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Storm has acquired wide receiver Chris Slaughter announced vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch.

"Chris is the type of player that has the height and speed that the Storm looks for," said Gooch. "His abilities will help elevate the level of play on the field."

Slaughter (6-foot-3, 170 lbs., Fort Valley State) enters his rookie season in the Arena Football League with the Tampa Bay Storm. He began his collegiate career at Auburn before settling in at Fort Valley State. Slaughter played two seasons for the Tigers, appearing in 20 games. He reeled in 18 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown. He played one season at Fort Valley State, and hauled in 18 passes for 403 yards and three touchdowns.

The team placed defensive lineman Rodney Beamon on injured reserve. Beamon started in nine games for the Storm this season and recorded 13 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, an interception, a pass breakup and a forced fumble.
