Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of the National Indoor Football League (NIFL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Grego to the position of Assistant General Manager. Grego will work with Storm General Manager, Colin Steen, in managing the day-to-day operations of the organization. He will also serve as the Director of Media Relations for the Storm.

Grego is a graduate of Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and Physical Education. He comes to us from the La Crosse Night Train, formerly of the NIFL. There he served as General Manager for two seasons, boosting the attendance records of the team to the fourth highest in the NIFL in 2003. The Night Train was also named the La Crosse Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Tourism Business of the Year under Grego in 2003. Those accomplishments came to Grego and the Night Train only 2 years after their start in 2001.

Grego’s sports management career began prior to his GM position with the La Crosse Night Train. In 2001 he worked with the Mississippi River Men, a first-year, semi-pro football team in Winona, Minnesota, as the Assistant General Manager and co-owner. He helped lead the River Men to the Mid-America Football League Championship game in ‘01. Grego has also helped with game-day operations for the Sioux City Attack (IFL) and River Cities Roughriders (MFL-semi pro).

Grego and his experience in the sports industry will prove to be an invaluable addition to the Sioux Falls Storm. We are excited to have him as a member of our team, and, with his help, we look forward to having another record setting year in 2005!
