Storm Adds More Size to Roster

The Storm have added more size to their training camp roster, with the signing of Center Cody Boone, pending FIBA clearance.
The 6'9", 245 lbs Boone played his collegiate ball at Seton Hill College in Pennsylvania, where as a senior, he averaged 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game, while shooting 55% from the floor. He received an All-WVIAC Honorable Mention twice, in both 2008 and 2010.
The native of Howard, PA, played in the EBA in 2012 with the Jersey G-Force, where he averaged 9 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks per game. Boone received the All-EBA Rookie of the Year Award and was named to the All-EBA 2nd team.
Storm Head Coach Joe Salerno says, "Cody is a remendous athlete for his size. He brings a true defensive presence inside for us, with the ability to protect the rim and block shots. He brings something to the table we have been lacking. Cody will be a fan favorite with his ability to play above the rim; he is an exciting player to watch."
The Storm announced today they've released Small Forwards Hillary Haley and Sammy Emile from their player contracts.
The Storm will welcome the Saint John Mill Rats to an exhibition matchup tonight at UPEI. Game time is 7pm and the Storm will have made another round of cuts, leaving the roster heading into exhibition games sitting at 14 players. Tickets for the exhibition game at UPEI are available at the door, and costs are $5 for adults, $3 for students. Proceeds to UPEI Basketball.
The Island Storm will travel to Halifax on Sunday for a 2pm game at the Metro Centre vs the Rainmen.
