Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the signing wide receiver Tommy Hofer and defensive back Hank McCall for the 2007 season. Both athletes starred at area universities as Hofer played at Dakota State University (DSU) and McCall shined at South Dakota State University.

Hofer, a Lennox, SD native, put together an impressive college career for the Trojans. Hofer finished his career with 256 receptions, 3,456 yards, and 26 touchdowns. Hofer owns the DSU career record in all three categories. The 5'10 185 lb. receiver was named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) First-Team All-American after his senior campaign in 2005. During 2005, Hofer hauled in 70 receptions and set a DSU record for most receiving yards in a season with 1,097. Hofer also holds the DSU record for most receptions in a season with 86, which he set in 2003. Hofer spent part of 2006 as a member of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, where he made the opening day roster before being released last June.

McCall missed only two games in four years as a member of the Jackrabbits football team from 2002-2005. The 5'11 186 lb. Algona, Iowa native was named to the All Great Western Conference Second-Team in both 2004 and 2005. During the 2005 campaign, McCall compiled 63 tackles and three interceptions. McCall also had an outstanding junior season in 2004 as he accounted for 78 tackles and two interceptions.

Storm President Colin Steen says, "Tommy and Hank are huge additions to our football team. We expect to see them making a lot of plays for us and with their local ties I'm sure it won't hurt our attendance."
