FORT MYERS -- A costly passed ball allowed the Fort Myers Miracle to slide past the Charlotte Stone Crabs on Monday at Hammond Stadium.

Jhon Goncalves scampered home from third base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth after a Lenny Linsky (0-2) pitch was mishandled by Charlotte catcher Luke Bailey. That run helped the Miracle escape with a victory after seeing their two-run lead disappear just one inning earlier.

Charlotte leadoff man Hector Guevara had quite a night setting the table, and it all got started with a bang off Miracle starter Pat Dean to open the game. Guevara belted his second home run of the season to put the Stone Crabs on top. He finished with a season-high four hits.

The Miracle held a two-run lead for much of the night after scoring three times against Braulio Lara in the bottom of the second inning. Anderson Hidalgo's two-run home run had the Miracle ahead until the late innings.

After both clubs traded runs in the fourth inning, Charlotte was finally able to tie things up in the eighth. Steve Tinoco doubled and scored on a single by Derek Dietrich, which knocked Dean out of the game and trimmed Fort Myers' lead to 4-3.

With reliever A.J. Achter (1-1) in the game, Dietrich was able to score the tying run two batters later, when Kevin Kiermaier's grounder was booted by Miracle second baseman Daniel Santana.

Left-hander T.J. Geith continued his stellar run with two more innings of scoreless relief, taking over for Lara in the top of the sixth. His scoreless streak now stands at 17 consecutive frames.

The series continues on Tuesday as Albert Suarez takes the mound for Charlotte against Matt Summers of Fort Myers in a battle of right-handers. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
