Stockton's Anderson Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Athletic Trainer of the Year

PRINCETON, N.J. ‚¬" The ECHL announced on Tuesday that Kevin Anderson of the Stockton Thunder is the 2010-11 recipient of the ECHL Athletic Trainer of the Year Award, presented by Reebok Hockey.

The winner is determined in a vote of the league ‚¬â„¢s athletic trainers and equipment managers. Anderson will receive a prize package from Reebok Hockey in recognition of his win.

Anderson completed his sixth season as the head athletic trainer of the Thunder, and was named the athletic trainer for the ECHL All-Stars at the 2011 ECHL All-Star Classic in Bakersfield. He gained experience in sports medicine as the Assistant Director of Athletic Training at the University of the Pacific under the direction of current Director, Chris Pond. He also worked as an athletic training intern in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams in 1992 and 1993. During his tenure at Pacific, Anderson dedicated his time as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Magic Johnson Summer Basketball Camps and as a volunteer athletic trainer for various Professional Bull Riding (PBR) Events and professional rodeos. Anderson was selected to serve on the athletic training staff at the 2007 ECHL All-Star Game in Boise, Idaho and at the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game in Stockton. In 2008, he was recognized as the arenafootball2 Athletic Trainer of the Year.
