Stingrayz announce home field
February 26, 2005 - Women's Professional Football League (WPFL)
San Francisco Stingrayz News Release
The San Francisco Stingrayz are proud to announce that Kezar Stadium, at the base of Golden Gate Park has been declared the Home Field for the 2005 season. The Stingrayz have already played two seasons here and are proud to announce their third.
Kezar Stadium was the home of the San Francisco 49ers from their first season in 1946 until the 1971 NFC Championship which pitted the 49ers against the Dallas Cowboys in the first match of what became a heated Championship game rivalry between two NFL Dynasties.
In a fashion reminiscent of the 49ers Dynasty, the Stingrayz defeated the defending champions 36-20 last season, handing the champs their first loss in franchise history. The Stingrayz plan to build on the success of last season and make Kezar Stadium, once again, the site where Champions are made!
