Myrtle Beach, SC: On Monday, May 19, 2003, at approximately 10:00 AM, the ownership of the Myrtle Beach Stingrays released Jimmy Dunn as the head coach of the Myrtle Beach Stingrays. The ownership of the Stingrays felt this change was necessary and needed for the betterment of the organization.
The ownership wishes Jimmy Dunn all the best in his future endeavors.
Effective immediately Stingrays Director of Operations, and assistant coach, Mike Siani has been hired as the new head coach of the Myrtle Beach Stingrays. Mike brings an extensive background in professional football, after a successful career as a wide receiver for the Oakland Raiders, and is also in the Villanova Hall of Fame. Coach Siani was the only the individual interviewed and considered for the position.
The ownership and management of the Stingrays are excited and committed to ensuring high quality and fun for all ages, professional sports entertainment in the grandstand. We are sure that our fans and our sponsors will enjoy all the action when the Stingrays return home for their last five home games beginning on Monday, May 26th.
Join us before the game, Memorial Day, May 26th, for pre-game tailgating, concert by the Necessary Brothers, food and fun beginning at 5:00 in front of the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Gates open at 6:30, and kick off for the game is at 7:30 pm.
