Mississippi Miracles News Release
Greenville, MS. Andy Stoglin, GM and Head Coach of the ABA Mississippi professional basketball team today announced that the team's name would be changed from the Greenville Stingers to the Mississippi Stingers. According to Stoglin, "We'll be playing games this season in both Greenville and Greenwood - so we felt that Mississippi would better reflect our concept of covering the state. We checked around and our fans really like it."
Stoglin added, "Things are going very well on all fronts - our tryout camps have been great; we've found some fabulous players and will be very competitive - and our sponsor base and ticket sales are right on target. We're feeling very comfortable that we'll have a very successful season."
