South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The South Carolina Stingrays wrapped up the pre season with two wins and some strong performances from their rookies.

The Rays blasted the Greenville Grrrowl on Friday night 5-2 with goals coming from Jeff Spina (2), John Hecimovic, Brad Parsons and Marty Clapton.

On Saturday the Rays came from behind to win 4-3 over the Augusta Lynx. Ty Morris had a pair and Jeff Legue and Hecimovic scored singles.

Goaltending looks solid for the Rays as well with strong performances from second year Washington prospect Maxime Daigneault and rookie Boston pick Mike Brown. Daigneault stopped 19 of 20 in two periods at the Bi Lo Center and Brown went the distance Sunday stopping 24 of 27.

The Rays take to the ice on Friday to kick off the regular season in Augusta at 7:05. The team's final roster will be released this week.
