Sting Mascot B.B. Sting Heads to Athens, Georgia

August 2, 2004-In celebration of the Summer Olympics being held in Athens, Greece, the Charlotte Sting's mascot B.B. Sting is making her own trip to Athens. B.B. Sting will be traveling to Athens, Georgia beginning Tuesday, August 3. She will make stops in Greenville, South Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia before arriving in Athens, Georgia on Thursday, August 5. Along the way, B.B. Sting will be sharing her excitement for the upcoming Olympics by visiting local attractions and greeting fans.

The University City YMCA (8100 Old Mallard Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC) will host a send-off party for B.B. Sting on Tuesday, August 3 at 10:00 a.m. At the send-off party, B.B. Sting will host her own Mini-Olympic Games featuring a knock-out basketball contest and a skills challenge. B.B. will also be taking pictures and signing autographs for the children in attendance. The public is invited to attend.

Following the send-off party, B.B. Sting will travel to Greenville, South Carolina. In Greenville, she will visit the Greenville Zoo (150 Cleveland Park Drive, Greenville, SC) beginning at 3:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, August 4, B.B. Sting heads to Atlanta, Georgia where she will visit Butler Street YMCA (17 Jesse Hill Jr Dr NE, Atlanta, GA) at 10:00 a.m. There she will host another Mini-Olympics and conduct an autograph session for the kids in attendance. B.B. Sting will then visit one the symbols of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Centennial Olympic Park, at 1:00 p.m.

B.B. Sting will reach Athens, Georgia on Thursday, August 5. She will spend the morning touring the city of Athens before winding up her trip with a celebration at World of Wonders Community Playground located in Southeast Clarke Park (4440 Lexington Road, Athens, GA) at 3:30 p.m.
