
Sting equipment manager Rick Ferguson honored by NLL

GLENDALE, AZ --- The National Lacrosse League announced today that Rick Ferguson of the Arizona Sting has been named the league's Equipment Manager of the Year.
"This is a tremendous honor," said Ferguson. "It's great to be recognized in this fashion. I feel very privileged to work for a fantastic organization like the Sting while working with a great group of players that make it fun to go to the arena every week. This award is icing on the cake for me."
A native of Pennsylvania, Ferguson has been the Sting's Equipment Manager since their arrival in the Valley of the Sun in 2003. He is also the Equipment Manager for visiting NHL teams at the Glendale Arena and serves as Hockey Director for the Coyotes Hockey League at the Alltel Ice Den in Scottsdale.
"Rick is well respected by his peers and by our players," said Head Coach/General Manager Bob Hamley. "We've felt he's been the best at what he does for a while now and it's nice that he's being recognized by the league for his consistent excellence."
The voting for all executive and operations awards were submitted by Governors and General Managers of the league's 11 member clubs after the conclusion of the regular season and prior to the start of the Champion's Cup Playoffs.
The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Their home games are played at the Glendale Arena and their season runs annually from January-April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
