Arizona Sting News Release
GLENDALE, AZ --- The Arizona Sting announced today that the celebrity coaches for this Friday's inter-squad scrimmage at Jobing.com Arena will be Big Red, mascot of the Arizona Cardinals, and Howler, mascot of the Phoenix Coyotes. The game is set to take place in the last hour of the second annual Sting Fan Fest, which runs from 6:00-9:00P.M. Attendance at this event is free.
Howler, who will be making his coaching debut, has been the mascot of the Phoenix Coyotes since October 15, 2005. The one-year old will be pitted against Arizona Cardinals mascot Big Red in the match. Big Red, who has been patrolling the sidelines of Cardinals games since 1998, recently became a neighbor of Howler after relocating to Glendale from Tempe, AZ.
In addition to the exciting scrimmage, Fan Fest offers those in attendance the chance to meet Sting players, try out their lacrosse skills on the Sting's home floor, meet the new Stingette Dance Team, and participate in some interactive games and booths.
The Arizona Sting is a professional indoor lacrosse team playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Their home games are played at the Jobing.com Arena and their season runs annually from January-April. For more information, please visit www.ArizonaSting.com.
