
Minnesota Swarm Signs KARE 11 Sportscaster Eric Perkins To A Contract

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Swarm General Manager Marty O'Neill today announced the National Lacrosse League (NLL) team has signed KARE 11 sportscaster Eric Perkins to a contract subject to league approval.
Perkins is scheduled to make his NLL debut when the Swarm hosts the Chicago Shamrox on Saturday, January 13 at 7:00 PM at Xcel Energy Center in its 2007 home opener.
"I am thrilled to be getting an opportunity with this playoff caliber team. I'll do anything I can to help the Swarm win...anything."
The Los Angeles, California native joined KARE 11 as a sport reporter in November of 1996 and has participated in a number of sporting events including lacrosse, hockey, ski-jumping, bullfighting, a demolition derby and playing baseball as part of his "Perk at Play" segments that air every Tuesday night on KARE 11.
Perkins graduated from Pepperdine University (Seaver College) with a major in Broadcasting and will be working out with O'Neill and Swarm players this month to help him prepare for the upcoming season. The 6-foot-4, 185-pound forward is a left-handed shot.
