June 23, 2005 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Arizona Sting News Release

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Arizona Sting General Manager and Head Coach Bob Hamley announced today that the Sting has acquired a first round draft choice in 2006 and in 2007 from the Minnesota Swarm in exchange for forward Kasey Beirnes and defenseman Darryl Gibson. Arizona originally owned these two first round draft choices before trading them to Minnesota on Mar. 24, 2005 in exchange for forward Craig Conn.

Beirnes, 25, appeared in one game with Arizona in 2005 and recorded one goal before suffering a season-ending injury. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound forward recorded 91-77-168 and 214 loose balls in 49 career NLL games over four seasons with Arizona and Columbus.

The 28-year-old Gibson played in 16 games with Arizona and San Jose last season and collected 3-8-11 and 84 loose balls. He began the season with San Jose before Arizona acquired him in a trade on Jan. 14, 2005 in exchange for Cam Sedgwick. In 81 career games over six seasons with Albany, Toronto, San Jose and Arizona, Gibson has recorded 24-47-71 and 388 loose balls.
