Arizona Sting News Release
GLENDALE, AZ --- Arizona Sting Head Coach and General Manager Bob Hamley announced Wednesday the acquisition of forward Brad Dairon from the Edmonton Rush in exchange for a third round draft pick in 2008. The deal is pending league approval.
"We're very pleased to be adding Brad to our roster," said Hamley. "He's a proven draw man in this league and gives us some size up front."
Dairon, a six-year NLL veteran, registered 15G-21A-36P with Edmonton last season while playing in all 16 of the expansion team's games. The 6'3", 235 lb. native of Burnaby, British Columbia, also won 113 of 233 face-off attempts and scooped up 86 loose balls on the season. In 2005, Dairon played in 12 games for the San Jose Stealth after a three-year absence from the NLL. The 27-year old scored 6 goals and dished out 4 assists for 10 points while winning 83 of 142 face-off attempts and scooping up 26 loose balls while with San Jose. Prior joining the Stealth, Brad had seen limited action with the Toronto Rock (1999-2000) and New York Saints (2001-2002). In 21 games with the two squads, Dairon registered 27G-24A-51P. Prior to his professional career, Dairon won a Minto Cup (trophy awarded to Canada's top junior lacrosse team) with the Burnaby Lakers in 1998.
