Steven Heiman Named Director of Officials

ATLANTA, GA - The National Arena League is proud to announce its newest Director of Officiating Steven Heiman who succeeds Joe Clarkson seven year successful tenure.
Heiman brings to the National Arena League an arsenal of football officiating experience that dates back to 1999, along with membership credentials from several well-respected organizations. Heiman's success includes 24-years of officiating football, including time with the Big 12 Conference (2020-Present), Mountain West Conference in Division I college football (2015-2020), Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association in Division II college football (2005-2015), Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference in the NAIA (1999-2004), and the Kansas Jayhawk CC Conference (1999-2005)
In 2000, Heiman gained his first experience in Arena Football officiating games for the AF2 (2000-2004). He continues to gain experience at the arena/indoor level becoming an official and supervisor of officials between 2000-2023 between the American Professional League (APFL), Indoor Football League (IFL), Champions Professional Indoor League (CPIFL), Champions Indoor Football league (CIF). His career highlights official supervisor positions with the CPIFL and CIF. Notably he served as a 2x Champions Bowl official in the Champions Indoor Football League. He also earned Zebra of the Year in 2011 in Division II college football for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association as well as officiated two national championships while working at the junior college level. .
In 2024, Steven Heiman is already hard at work assembling NAL crews through it's newest landscape across three time zones. Heiman will be responsible for implementing new National Arena League rules and regulations, while enforcing those rules league wide. The National Arena League kicks off next month.
