Gary, IN: The Gary Steelheads hosted their divisional rivals, the Rockford Lightning tonight in front of 3182 fans, looking to make up ground in the standings. Santa Claus didn't bring an early Christmas gift to the Steelheads as they lost 104-100. In the process they managed to garner 1.5 quarter points, to run their season total to 41 on the season.
The Steelheads were led in scoring by new arrival Paul McPherson. McPherson scored 26 points in only 15 minutes of play. Lonnie Jones had 17 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and sent 6 shots back in the seats. Jimmie Hunter had 15 points in his first game since November 21. Marshall Phillips had 26 points for the Lightning and Stais Boseman chipped in with 25 points in the victory.
The Steelheads venture to Rockford to take on the Lightning on December 26th before hosting the Great Lakes Storm on December 28th.
