SIOUX FALLS, SD -- Gary Steelheads' guard Bryant Notree won the Slam Dunk Contest Monday night at the 19th CBA All-Star Classic. The game is Tuesday at the Sioux Falls Arena.
The 6-foot-4 guard defeated Great Lakes' Cory HIghtower in the final round. Notree is one of three Steelheads on the American Conference squad.
In his final dunk, Notree had Great Lakes' James Head on all fours in the lane. Steelhead teammate Jemeil Rich sat on Head's back, with his back towards the basket.
Notree took off from center court and started his leap at about the free throw line. Rich tossed the ball up and Notree grabbed it. He fully extended his arms well overthe 10-foot heighth. He hammered the ball into the net and brought the crowd to its feet.
Dakota's Malik Dixon won the Long Distance Shootout.
