GARY, Indiana (October 13, 2005) "" The Gary Steelheads of the Continental Basketball Association have signed 5-foot-10 point guard Brian Chase, pending league approval.
Last season, Chase played with the Maryland Nighthawks of the American Basketball Association. In 13 games, he averaged 18.4ppg and 2.3apg, while shooting 45% from the field and 39% from three-point range. Maryland made it to the league quarterfinals.
Chase, a prep standout from Washington D.C., played for Ricky Stokes at Virginia Tech. He averaged 10.8ppg, 2.8 rpg and 1.9 apg in 103 games with the Hokies.
