Steelheads Announce USBL Draft Party at Bennigans, Includes Live Broadcast

GARY, Indiana (April 5, 2007) - The Gary Steelheads announced that they are holding a special party in conjunction with the 2007 USBL Draft at Bennigan's Grill and Tavern in downtown Gary. The party will be held on Tuesday, April 10th, between the hours of 5:00PM and 8:00PM CDT.
In a first for the franchise, the Steelheads will present special live broadcast coverage, direct from the team's draft headquarters in the Diamond Center at Bennigans. Steelheads' broadcaster Bill Hazen will anchor the program, which will include interviews with Steelheads' coach Cliff Levingston, team President Jewell Harris Jr., team VP/General Manager Kevin Spudic and other dignitaries. The broadcast will be carried to a nationwide and worldwide audience on the Internet through SportsJuice (www.sportsjuice.com). Airtime is set for 5:30PM CDT.
The 2007 USBL Draft will be held at league Headquarters in Milford, Connecticut. Teams will be connected through a special telephone conference hookup, with the draft scheduled to cover four rounds. The USBL Draft will begin at 6:00PM CDT, with the Albany Patroons having the first pick. Gary will pick second in the first round.
The Steelheads will open their inaugural season in the USBL on Friday, April 13th, hosting the Jackson Wildcats at the Genesis Center. Tipoff is set for 7:05PM, CDT. The two teams will meet in a Genesis Center rematch the following evening, Saturday, April 14th.
